Caroline WozniackiWorld No. 1, Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark, seems intent on proving to a skeptical world that she is indeed deserving of her ranking as she cruised easily through her first two rounds at the 2011 Australian Open without dropping a set.

Caroline lost only one game in her 2nd round match on Wednesday, destroying Vania King of the USA, 6-1, 6-0.

Caroline hit 23 winners and only 8 unforced errors, a ratio of nearly 3 to 1, rarely achieved in “modern” tennis. Vania hit 10 winners, with 20 errors.

After the match, Caroline said: “I definitely felt like I was playing good tennis today. I was playing aggressively. I was playing my game and I felt comfortable out there. I took the balls early, I made

[Vania] run. I had a couple of good net approaches. In general I played a really good and solid match.”

In the 3rd round on Friday, Caroline will play 29th seeded #32 Dominika Cibulkova. Caroline leads Dominika 5-2 in career matches, but Dominika won their most recent meeting, last week in the 2nd round at the Brisbane International in Sydney, 6-3, 6-3.
