In this peculiar point, Robin Haase (pictured on the right) has retrieved a drop shot.  However, he leaves it very close to Julien Benneteau (on the left).

Haase sticks out his racquet like a shield and happens to block Benneteau’s pass for what looks like Haase’s point.

However, the chair umpire sees Haase’s volley is hit with his arm over the net, which is illegal.  Haase complains saying he pulled his arm back over the net before he hit the volley (that would be legal).

Clearly, this picture shoes Haase’s arm is over the net when he volleys the ball.

The chair umpire awards the point to Benneteau.
