Perhaps it was the fact that Lopez had never beaten Murray. Maybe it was that 5-setter against Lukasz Kubot that wore Lopez down. Maybe Murray had more tools or was more up to play a player the caliber of Lopez, but he’s had the easiest semi of any of the “big 4”.
Murray won over Feliciano Lopez in straight sets barely giving Lopez chances at break points. He was able to pass well and pick on the Lopez backhand with his own forehand as well as make some forays to the net.
Final score: 6-3, 6-4, 6-4.
Mardy Fish lost the first two sets, 6-3, 6-3, but manage to clinch the third set, 7-5. Fish had been serving in the low 60%, but is serving closer to 50%. Nadal got up an early break in the fourth set, and looks to be heading to the semis.
