German born cutie pie, Nicole Vaidisova, was beaten out in the second round of the WTA ASB Classic currently under way in Auckland, New Zealand. She is shown here playing a forehand against Elena Vesnina who defeated her.
Vaidisova was the 6th seed in the tournament. She had a close 3-set match in the first round against No. 68 ranked Alla Kudryavtseva of Russia. Viadisova came out on top, 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 7-5 in that match. No. 76 ranked Elena Vesnina of the Ukraine then ousted her in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3 in the next round.
It was a short tournament for Vaidisova. Hopefully it was enough of a warm-up for the Australian Open which begins Jan. 19.
