One of our featured cutie pies, Tatiana Golovin is scheduled for surgery today. She has been having back pains for a while and while looking for the source, doctors discovered she has a 6 cm (2.35 inch) cyst in her left hip. The surgery will remove the cyst.
This is what Tatiana said about it in the French newspaper L’Equipe: ” I wanted to play Memphis two weeks ago and I couldn’t put my weight on my left leg. Jerome Bianchi (one of the Fed Cup physio) came to see me in the USA, but after a week of treatment, there was no progress. I did an MRI and the specialist told me that there was no problem with my back. That’s how they discovered that I had a six centimeters cyst on my hip. I am going to have surgery this Wednesday… With the healing process, I won’t be able to play for several weeks. I don’t even know if I would be able to play Amelia Island (7th-13th April) to defend my title. It’s hard but at least now I know why I suffer .”
Good luck with the surgery and recovery, Tatiana. We’ll be pulling for you.
