Serena Williams of the USA continues to prove she belongs on top of the women’s tennis world with an easy straight-sets win over Sorana Cirstea of Romania 6-0, 6-2 at the 2013 French Open.
Serena committed only 15 unforced errors to move on to round four. She has lost only six games in three matches.
Serena, a 15-time Grand Slam champion, is seeking her first French Open title since 2002. She hasn’t reached the semifinals since 2003. This year looks like a great opportunity for Serena to erase some of those points of conversation.
Serena has extended her career-best win streak to 27 matches. Since losing in the first round a year ago at Roland Garros, Serena is 70-3, including titles at Wimbledon, the U.S. Open, the London Olympics and the season-ending WTA Championships.
