What’s a streaking man supposed to do?  When you’ve played as much tennis as Djokovic, you want to win and win quick, especially against a player like Lukas Kubot, and Djokovic obliged with a 6-0 first set.  With the French Open around the corner, an efficient Rome will leave Djokovic fresh.  Who knows how Rafa does it, has the energy to win 3 clay events and then the French?  Novak has to be careful and winning quickly helps.

At this point, Kubot had to play out of his comfort zone, which meant going for big shots.  How else to beat a player that good?  Play normal, and lose for sure.  Anyone, at the top of the game, can hit winners, even against the best players.  The question is how frequently can they do it?  How many errors will this strategy produce?  It often leads to quick losses, but what is one supposed to do?  Kubot obliged, hit hard, won a few games, and it was all over.

Final score: 6-0, 6-3.

Djokovic did look a bit fatigued at the end, as if any bit of energy that lead to celebrating was too much.

But he did have enough time to joke around.  Instead of signing his name on the camera, now a tradition amongst winners, he sketched a duck.

Maybe he was thinking about lunch.
