Swiss cutie pie, Patty Schnyder, is out of the 2008 WTA Tour Pilot Pen tennis tournament being held in New Haven, Connecticut, USA Aug. 18-24 after a 2nd round loss to 33rd ranked Amelie Mauresmo of France.
Patty Schnyder had won her 1st round match against Jill Craybas of the USA, 6-4, 7-6 (7-2). It took a 2nd set tie-break to win the match. Against Mauresmo, the match went into a 3rd set tie-break. This tie-break was not so kind to Patty. She lost the match 4-6, 6-3, 6-7 (6-8).
Patty is seeded 15th in the U.S. Open set to begin next week. Her first round opponent will be 166th ranked Anastasia Pivovarova of Russia.
