Now, before all you Andy Murray fans jump up and down claiming he’s the new coming of … Federer… sit down. Murray won the first set outright, however in the second set in the first game Rafa injured his knee. He struggled to serve for the rest of the set and started just going for broke. It was enough to beat Murray in the second set with Andy commenting after that Rafa was so good he almost beat him on one leg. However in the third set the Blake style tennis that Nadal had to adopt just wasn’t good enough, and the usual blazing speed was reduced to a crawl.
I would have preferred Rafa won, but either way hate the match to be decided by an injury…especially one that will likely linger on to hinder Rafa for the rest of his career. Even Federer would hate to see Rafa go down to cronic injuries… so lets hope he gets back to form soon and keeps playing the way we all know and respect!
