Still the early rounds going on.  Nadal, who rarely loses to fellow Spaniards (although he did lose to Lopez at Queen’s last year and to Garcia-Lopez in Bangkok–something about that Lopez name, I guess) faced fellow lefty, Feliciano Lopez.  This was a routine 6-3, 6-3 win.

Federer had a tougher match, requiring a 6-4, 7-6 win over Argentine, Juan Monaco.  Tomas Berdych also won in two close sets against mostly unheralded, Carlos Berlocq, also of Argentina, 7-6, 7-5.

Almagro was upset by German Florian Mayer.  Youzhny was upset by qualifier Olivier Rochus of Belgium.  Gilles Simon of France beat Pablo Cuevas in three sets.  Janko Tipsarevic beat German Phillipp Petzschner.

The match between Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Alexandr Dolgopolov was called due to rain after about two and a half sets of play.  Tsonga took the first set, 6-4.  Dolgopolov took the second in a tiebreak.

Most everyone is playing on Tuesday.  Federer, Djokovic, even the winner of Tsonga-Dolgopolov is scheduled to play Nadal.  Federer will play his doubles buddy from ages ago, Olivier Rochus.  Djokovic will (again) play his doubles buddy, Viktor Troicki (although he teamed with Andy Murray in Miami).  Ferrer, Isner, Tipsarevic and Simon also play.
