Wimbledon: The Other Champs

Congratulations to Rafael Nadal winning his second Wimbledon. Although the telecasts barely cover it, there were other men's events going on. What do Philipp Petzschner and Jurgen Melzer have in common?  They both lost to eventual champ, Rafael Nadal (Petzschner at Wimbledon and Melzer in the French).  But, now they have something else in common.

It was not unexpected that Rafael Nadal won his second Wimbledon.  Nadal exposed some of Berdych's weaknesses.  He gives you so few opportunities to take advantage of a match that you have to take them when it's available.  Right now, it seems the only way Nadal will lose is some player that can outhit him

Murray looked like he had everything he needed.  He was serving well, with first serve percentages near 70%, and impossibly high number for Murray who often sees 40% more than he sees 60%.   He had his "Nadal strategy" in place, trying for big shots rather than the usual passive style he uses against most players.

Tomas Berdych wasn't getting enough love.  He had just upset Roger Federer, but it was Novak Djokovic that was slightly favored.  Two reasons: Djokovic had never lost to Berdych (they'd only played twice, to be fair) and Djokovic had beaten Hewitt, considered a dark horse to win Wimbledon, and then demolished Lu.  It was felt
