A Danish cutie pie, Caroline Wozniacki, is the champion of the 2008 WTA Tour Pilot Pen tennis tournament held in New Haven, Connecticut, USA, this past week.
This is the 2nd championship in a row for the 18 year old, who is now ranked 18 in the world. She just won the 2008 Nordea Nordic Light tournament held in Stockholm, Sweden, the first week in August. Now she has added the championship of the Pilot Pen.
On her way to the championship, Caroline defeated Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia, Monica Niculescu of Romania, Marion Bartoli of France in the Quarterfinals, and Alize Cornet of France in the Semifinals.
Her final match was against the 1st seed, 9th ranked Russian cutie pie, Anna Chakvetadze. Caroline dropped the 1st set 3-6, then got very serious winning the last two sets 6-4, 6-1.
This was a great win for Caroline Wozniacki, and a great warm-up for the U.S. Open beginning this week. Go Caroline. Show us your stuff!
