Russian cutie pie, Maria Sharapova, is celebrating her 22nd birthday today. She was born in Nyagan, Russia on April 19, 1987. She currently resides in Bradenton, Florida.
Unfortunately she isn’t celebrating her birthday on the tennis court as she continues to deal with a shoulder injury. She has not played any singles in any tournaments this year, and tried just one doubles match, which she and her partner lost. Her ranking has dropped to 64 since she hasn’t been playing. She still hopes to get back to playing tournaments. She had hoped to play in Miami, but that didn’t happen.
So I guess our birthday wish for her would be for a complete recovery so she can get back out on the courts. The game hasn’t quite seemed the same without her.
