Caroline Wozniacki, cutie pie from Denmark, advanced to the Quarterfinals of the WTA ASB Classic being held in Auckland, New Zealand.
Wozniacki was the 2nd seed in the tournament. She had an easy win over No. 172 ranked Alberta Brianti of Italy, 6-1, 6-0. In the second round, she defeated No. 64 ranked Jill Craybas of the USA 6-4, 7-5. The quarterfinals against No. 76 ranked Elena Vesnina of Russia turned into a see-saw 3-set match, with Vesnina coming out on top 6-3, 0-6, 6-3.
Wozniacki turned right around to play in the Medibank International being held in Sydney, Australia. Seeded 8th, she has reached the quarterfinals with wins over Dominika Cibulkova (6-1, 6-2) and Melanie South (6-2, 6-0).
Wozniacki will face No. 1 seeded Serena Williams in the Quarterfinal match. That should prove to be a tough match and should help get both ready for the Australian Open scheduled to begin Jan. 19.
