Russian cutie pie, Maria Kirilenko is the first seed in the 2008 WTA Banka Koper Slovenia Open being played in Portoroz, Slovenia July 21-27. And she won her first round match against Croation, Nika Ozegovic, ranked 213 in the world. The match was an easy straight sets win for Maria, 6-1, 6-1.
Maria’s next opponent will be Roberta Vinci of Italy, currently ranked 167th in the world. Maria should make it through to the next round. In fact, with her good start, I predict she will end up the champion of this tournament.
