Swiss cutie pie, Patty Schnyder, is the 5th seed at the 2008 WTA Tour Bank of the West Classic being played in Stanford, California, USA July 14-20.

Patty defeated Amber Liu of the USA 6-1, 6-1. Amber doesn’t have a lot of major tournament experience and is currently ranked 328th in the world. But a win is a win. Way to go Patty.

In the 2nd round, Patty defeated 35th ranked Alisa Kleybanova of Russia in a close match, 7-6(10-8), 6-4. That was a good win, and should help make her match tough.

Patty will now face a bigger challenge in the Quarterfinals, where she will come up against 5th ranked Serena Williams of the USA. Come on Patty. You can do it!
