The weather was windy and Simon wasn’t sure he wanted to be on the court.  Simon had given Federer all he could handle in a five set match in Australia, but today, he went down two breaks and said he couldn’t play.

Apparently Fed’s previous match against Rochus started very late, but that was 2 days ago.  Federer got a day off and pretty much today off as well.

Novak Djokovic played a close set against Kevin Anderson 6-4, but then ran away in the second set, 6-2.

Fish will play Djokovic in one semifinals.  Federer will play the winner of Nadal and Berdych.  He said he didn’t plan to watch the match live having played both players plenty of times.

In other news, Andy Murray also announced he would split with part-time consultant, Alex Corretja, who was supposed to assist Murray during the clay season.  Miles Maclagan apparently wondered whether he was the coach or not and this lead to a parting of the way with his coach right around the US Open last year.  Murray has called his buddy Dani Vallverdu his coach for now, although Ivan Lendl has expressed interest in coaching Murray.  Jamie, Andy’s brother, has echoed similar sentiments for Lendl to be the coach, but no further news as of now.

Nadal will play Berdych at 7 PM Miami time for the last semifinal berth.
