Well, Jack Sock realizes that Andy Roddick still has a ton more experience than he does.  Sock started off serving big, holding serve, then having chances to break.  But when he didn’t break, Roddick started gaining confidence.  Basically Sock still has holes in his game.  He tries to hit inside out and is aggressive, but he doesn’t do much with it.  He can’t finish by hitting inside-in.  His drop shots need a bit of work, though it’s a good idea given how deep Andy Roddick likes to play.

Roddick was cruising comfortably in the third set when Roddick was up a break.  However, Sock did manage to get a break back.  Didn’t matter.  Roddick broke again, and held comfortably.

Much like young Harrison or any of the up-and-comers, they are still struggling to avoid silly errors, and show they are still a bit raw.

Roddick lost to Tispsarevic last year in the second round, and he’s already in the third round where he plays Julien Benneteau.  Although Benneteau is a savvy veteran who is on a huge win streak, Roddick should be able to get the win which means he might face David Ferrer who beat him at the Davis Cup held in Roddick’s hometown of Austin.

Tomorrow, Federer and Djokovic have their first challenges.  Federer takes on former top ten, Marin Cilic, and Djokovic takes on former top ten, Nikolay Davydenko in the evening match.
