The phrase “carve the side of the ball” is constantly used to describe what should be done to create slice on a serve but it does NOT happen in reality!
If people want to use that phrase to explain what a slice serve “feels like” that’s one thing, but I feel that its very important for all of us to be on the same page about what truly occurs.
Otherwise people are led stray which results in poor technique and even injury.
